Procurement & Contracts Operations Lead

Procurement & Contracts Operations Lead

External Role until 08 Dec 2025

  • Lifestyle-based with generous relocation package on offer

  • Focus on procurement, contracts, tendering programmes of work

  • Engineering or technical background essential

Sole responsibility for the delivery of organisation-wide procurement projects and programmes of work.

We are looking for an experienced Procurement Professional who has had exposure to the full spectrum, across the broad procurement, contracts, tendering, and negotiations space. You will have an appetite to further grow, develop and consolidate this area within this organisation. In leading this important function with a track record of getting things done, you’ll be fully supported towards achieving the procurement strategy outcomes.

About the opportunity

By leading the procurement programmes and projects of this organisation, you will apply your expertise across technical and engineering projects, civil works, contract management, tendering processes etc, in conjunction with divisional managers responsible for outcome delivery.

You will also be responsible for the implementation of projects to ensure suppliers and internal operations meet project objectives and outcomes – in other words, not in isolation, but hands-on, end to end. So your expertise will transgress across all aspects from administration through to final delivery and ongoing maintenance.

We welcome applicants from central or local government, utilities, infrastructure, or similar operational environments who are ready to apply their capability and skills to this new challenge.

What you will be doing:

  • Leading and supporting the organisational procurement function

  • Managing contracts from tendering through to acceptance, delivery, and operations.

  • Administering all documentation for contract duration

  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant rules and legislation

  • Focusing on maintaining exemplary internal and external relationships

  • Ensuring unrivalled customer and stakeholder outcome delivery

  • Assisting with budgeting and providing progress reports

Why you will enjoy this role, because you'll be:

  • Taking responsibility for the entire procurement function of a diverse organisation.

  • Making a significant contribution to cost minimisation and delivery outcomes.

  • In an end-to-end role – from planning to hands-on delivery and operational.

  • Supported to develop your capability across areas where you may currently have gaps.

  • Part of a supportive, forward-thinking team culture.

  • Not responsible for managing a team and be able to focus on "making procurement work"!

  • (And lastly), living in a lifestyle location where the words “hectic” and “peak hour” don’t exist!

What you will bring

  • Proven or emerging capability in the technical aspects of procurement, contracts, and tendering.

  • Operational experience in local or central government, utilities, or infrastructure.

  • Aptitude and willingness to develop your knowledge and experience.

  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

  • An organised, proactive, and solutions-focused approach.

What is in it for you

  • High-impact role where your work is visible and valued.

  • Opportunity to deliver meaningful projects

  • Supportive workplace culture built on teamwork and integrity.

  • A revised competitive salary plus great benefits – based on experience.

  • A generous relocation package

  • Desired regional location with a mix of rural and urban engagement

Apply now to take the lead in a mutually beneficial future. Please note that this is not a team management role and has sole responsibility for the procurement function.
