Warehouse Stationery Marketing Manager - Fixed term until early May 2025

Marketing & Communications - Digital & Search Marketing Role until 23 Sep 2024

This is not your typical parental leave cover ‘marketing manager’ role.  We are looking for a broad and savvy marketer to join us at this exciting junction as our Warehouse Stationery (WSL) marketing team takes shape, with the core focus of delighting our WSL customers.

The Warehouse Group looks after some of Aotearoa’s iconic brands - The Warehouse, Warehouse Stationery, and Noel Leeming. Our purpose at The Warehouse Group (TWG) is ‘Helping Kiwis live better every day” and this guides how we show up every day.  We have recently embraced a brand-led model, ensuring we remain laser-focused on our customers and markets specific to them.  Retail is more competitive than ever, and we need to bring our A game.

The Role

Reporting into our WSL Marketing Lead, you will be joining a small but mighty marketing team of 3 - though across our group structure, there are dedicated creative, digital, and social resources supporting our ‘blue’ brand.

At WSL we believe in making it easy for our customers to make more happen. We do it by providing a full range of products, services and solutions for businesses, customers and students. Warehouse Stationery as a brand is unique in the sense we have stand-alone stores, and then SWAS stores (Store within a store – so a warehouse stationery footprint within our Warehouse stores).

This varied role will see your efforts range from: delivering trading campaigns, involvement with major trading events, ensuring the category teams are supported by marketing through to scoping and engaging with our BIZ rewards loyalty customers.  Not to mention working closely with other internal teams to ensure marketing activities are integrated providing a cohesive customer experience.

About You

There is no playbook for this role so we will rely on your comfort to roll up your sleeves and join us to pave the way, embracing new ways of working and resetting our marketing focus and activities.

Your marketing background, strategic thinking and trading mindset are an absolute must.  Our wish-list also includes:

  • Broad marketing experience – in a trading/category capacity
  • Intensely curious and inquisitive about consumer/shopper behaviour
  • Flexible and open to change, and comfortable working with ambiguity
  • Project management skills (managing timelines and budgets)
  • A confident interactor and strong communicator – you know how to win friends, influence, negotiate and push back when needed

About Us

When you join us, we offer a range of benefits that work for you, your lifestyle, and your career which include:

  • Discounts across our brands
  • Free parking at our Northshore support office
  • We value collaboration & flexibility – embracing hybrid working – up to 2 days working from home per week
  • Onsite gym and café at our Northcote support office
  • A range of wellbeing support and development opportunities

This is a contract role not to be missed!   If you think your background might lend itself well to success here, then get in touch and we look forward to talking!
