Established in 1998, Matthews Packaging & Hygiene has been supplying New Zealand packaging & hygiene products since this time. From small entrepreneurial beginnings, owner Paul Matthews  started the business selling one product, packaging tape from his van. Today Matthews Packaging & Hygiene is an industry leader. Our company owns outright several operational warehouses within Auckland and has a ranging fleet of distribution vehicles. We believe we can solve any packaging problem or challenge.

Warehouse Assistant

We are looking for a Warehouse Assistant to join our Mangere based team. This role involves all aspects of warehousing, working across inwards goods, inventory and dispatch functions. We also provide full training. This role is full time, Monday to Friday (6:00am - 4:30pm) with some occasional overtime.   

What you will bring:

• Reliability and punctuality

• Self-motivation and self-management  

• Ability to deliver accurate work within deadlines and manage multiple tasks with a great ‘can do’, responsible and positive attitude

• Excellent communication  skills – high written and verbal English is essential

• Great team skills – the ability to work within a team and build relationships

• Technical competency and proficiency with computer and data entry skills as well as good numeracy skills

• Physically fit and able to work within a warehouse environment

• Both Reach truck and counter balance competent experience are required

• A current forklift and reach truck licence, with competent understanding of operation

• Knowledge of health and safety processes and safe working practices

• MPI Accreditation is preferred, but not essential

In addition, you must have:

• A clean drivers licence 

• NZ residency

• Successful external applicants will be required to complete a pre – employment medical, including a drug and alcohol screen as part of the recruitment process and will also be required to complete and pass a Police Check
