Animates is New Zealand’s leading pet care company with 46 pet specialty retail stores, 28 grooming salons and 15 vet clinics and growing. 

As part of our busy Kaiwharawhara store, you’ll enjoy being part of a close-knit team and have easy access to public transport.

This is a permanent, full-time role, working 40 hours a week, Tuesdays - Saturdays.

What you'll be doing:

Here at Animates you’ll enjoy a rewarding career where the advice we give, the services we offer and the products we sell make a real difference to the lives of pets. 

You’ll coach your team, deliver and drive sales, manage day-to-day operations and be empowered to manage the store’s profit and loss.

Our values-led culture and extensive training will also develop your product expertise to provide specialist nutrition advice, make the right toy suggestions and know what fish species make good tank-mates + much more! 

What we’re looking for:

An energetic retail leader, passionate about developing others and delivering customer service excellence.

To thrive, you’ll also have:

• A friendly personality to build a regular customer base and grow sales
• Proven experience in a performance based, people management role (ideally 8 or more staff)
• Merchandising knowledge and experience
• Physical ability to lift stock (up to 20kg)
• Flexibility to work weekends and public holidays
