Dentists – City Clinic

About the Role:

The Fono is seeking a skilled and compassionate dentist to join our Auckland CBD clinic. This is an exciting opportunity to provide high-quality oral health care in both clinic and community settings. We provide Pacific-centred care and welcome candidates from all backgrounds who are committed to culturally responsive practice, working within an integrated, team-based model of care.

Position & Schedule:

  • Location: City Clinic, Auckland CBD.

  • Days/ Hours:  Monday – Thursday, 32 hours per week (full-time)

  • Level:  Senior or Intermediate Dentist – must be confident working independently.

Remuneration Options:

We offer flexibility to suit your career and lifestyle, with the choice to work as a PAYE employee (with leave and statutory entitlements) or on a contractor basis (contract for services).

What You’ll Do:

  • Deliver comprehensive dental care, including endodontics (RCT), crowns, aesthetic/ cosmetic procedures, crown and bridge work, and general treatment.

  • Prioritise patient-first treatment planning – providing the best care, not just the quickest or cheapest option.

  • Contribute to community outreach and oral health education initiatives where required.

  • Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure culturally safe, patient-centred care.

  • Maintain accurate patient records and uphold infection control and health & safety standards.

About You:

  • Qualified and registered with the New Zealand Dental Council (Senior or Intermediate level).

  • Clinically confident and commercially aware – skilled in delivering higher-value treatments that improve both patient outcomes and clinic performance.

  • Strong experience in root canal therapy, crowns, and aesthetic/ cosmetic dentistry.

  • Patient-focused, flexible, and reliable – able to work across clinic and occasional outreach environments.

  • Collaborative and committed to continuous learning and improvement.

  • Culturally competent and able to engage effectively with Pacific and diverse communities.

Why Join Us?

You will be supported by a dedicated Oral Health Promoter and Treatment Coordinator to maximise your clinical efficiency, improve treatment acceptance, and support your professional growth. This is a chance to make a real impact—clinically, financially, and in the lives of your patients.

About us:

The Fono Dental team delivers high-quality, Pacific-centred oral health care across three fixed clinics in Auckland City, Henderson, and Manurewa, as well as through our state-of-the-art Mobile Dental Unit (MDU). The MDU is fully equipped to provide preventive, restorative, and emergency dental services, bringing care directly to communities that may face barriers to accessing clinic-based services.  Guided by our values of compassion, cultural respect, and community focus, our clinics and MDU together ensure accessible, convenient, and culturally safe dental care for all.
