Cobb‑Vantress New Zealand (CVNZ) is a global leader in poultry genetics, using innovative research and technology to make protein available, healthy and affordable worldwide. Our New Zealand site comprises a farm on a 150-acre site, based in Rotongaro, north of Huntly. With around 100 team members, we proudly provide vital exports to the growing Asian market for poultry.
The Opportunity
Are you an experienced infrastructure, maintenance, or facilities leader ready to take ownership of a complex, high‑performing operational site? We’re looking for a strategic, hands‑on expert to steward our facilities, environment, assets, and people - ensuring our operation remains safe, compliant, and future‑ready.
This is a critical leadership role with influence across the entire site, responsible for long‑term planning, operational excellence, and protecting the integrity of our world‑class facility.
You’ll oversee all maintenance, groundskeeping, pest control, contractor management, and asset planning activities, while driving continuous improvement across site systems, processes, and facilities
Key Responsibilities
Facilities & Assets: Oversee all site infrastructure, buildings, equipment, and long‑term asset planning.
Team Leadership: Provide strong, supportive leadership to the Maintenance, Pest Control, and Grounds teams - ensuring clear direction, high performance, and consistent standards across all areas.
Maintenance: Lead all planned, preventative, and reactive maintenance activities, including the implementation and ongoing management of a maintenance tracking system to improve scheduling, reporting, and asset‑life visibility.
Grounds & Pest Control: Maintain high groundskeeping standards and manage proactive, compliant pest‑control activities across the site.
Environmental Compliance: Manage water, waste, discharges, consents, and regulatory reporting, acting as the primary liaison with councils and other authorities.
Contractors: Oversee contractor induction, performance, safety, and compliance across all site activities.
Health, Safety & Biosecurity: Champion safe practices, risk management, incident follow‑up, emergency preparedness, and strict biosecurity protocols.
Budgets & Capital Projects: Manage budgets, prepare business cases, and ensure cost‑effective procurement and delivery of infrastructure and maintenance projects.
What You’ll Bring
Extensive experience in facilities management, infrastructure operations, or maintenance leadership
Proven ability in leading, developing and coaching teams
Relevant tertiary qualification (engineering, facilities management, project management, or similar)
Strong understanding of compliance in a regulated or operational environment
Experience managing contractors and maintenance activities
Good knowledge of health, safety, and environmental practices
Strong planning, organisation, and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and take ownership of outcomes
Confident communication and stakeholder management skills
