The Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance Engineer’s join our team in Dunsandel. We are looking for someone with sound mechanical knowledge along with high attention to detail. This will be your chance to bring your previous experience and knowledge to be part of our high performing team.

The ultimate responsibility of this role is for the mechanical reliability of the sites processing equipment on a shift-by-shift basis. Other key responsibilities include writing procedures and monitoring key performance indicators of our highly automated processes such as plant reliability and maintenance spend. 

Our shifts allow for plenty of flexibility and work life balance with 4 days off between shifts. Based on a rotational roster, you will be on the shift pattern below: 4 shifts on and 4 days off (12.5 hour shifts)

The main responsibilities of this role include..

  • Ultimate responsibility for the mechanical reliability of the site’s processing equipment on a shift-by-shift basis
  • Providing core mechanical maintenance services to our manufacturing site
  • Monitoring key performance indicators of our highly automated processes such as plant reliability and maintenance spendac
  • Writing and maintaining procedures

The key to your success will be your proactive response to plant maintenance and your ability to prioritise.    

Qualifications

  • A Mechanical NZCE, NZQA Level 4, or Trade Certificate is essential as is an Electrical, Instrumentation Trade qualification. 
  • A qualification in Project Management, Dairy Degree/Diploma would be a distinct advantage 

Skills & Experience

  • Installation and maintenance of industrial equipment and components 
  • Experience in root cause analysis programmes 
  • Familiarity with predictive maintenance tools, systems and processes 
  • Knowledge and experience in dairy plant maintenance 
  • A background in a food manufacturing environment and experience with Food Safety and HACCP systems 
  • Base electrical and automation knowledge
