We are looking for a reliable and caring Kitchen Hand to support our Head Chef in providing nutritious, high-quality meals for children across our early childhood centres.

This is a hands-on, fast-paced role that plays an important part in ensuring children receive healthy meals and snacks in a safe, clean, and well-organised kitchen environment.

• 9.15am to 1.00pm

• Based at Gladstone Park Early Childhood Centre in Parnell, Auckland

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with preparing and serving morning tea, lunch, and afternoon tea

• Assist with the preparation of meals in line with weekly menus

• Help transfer food between Centre sites when required

• Maintain a clean, safe, and organised kitchen

• Follow food safety, hygiene, and health regulations

• Assist with managing food supplies and minimising waste

• Be aware of and manage allergy requirements

• Support sustainability initiatives (e.g. recycling, food scraps)

• Assist with general kitchen and Centre tasks as needed

About us

The Village Square Trust is a non-profit community organisation with over 40 years’ experience bringing people together. We operate two early childhood centres in Parnell, alongside managing the Parnell and Epsom Community Centres on behalf of Auckland Council. We deliver a wide range of services for all ages, including community classes, activities, venue hire, out of school care, community markets and KidsHQ SuperMeals.
