We’re looking for a Team Lead: Events & Officials to take charge of organising, delivering, and growing high-quality basketball competitions. From grassroots tournaments to senior leagues—you’ll be at the heart of the action.


What You’ll Do

Own and deliver end-to-end basketball competitions

Coordinate schedules, venues, referees, and teams

Ensure smooth game-day operations

Build relationships with officials, clubs, players, and other stakeholders

Drive innovation to elevate the competition experience

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Managing Competitions & Events across all Basketball Formats

  • Oversee the recruitment and development of Officials and Venue Controllers

  • Maintain positive relationships with participants and venues

  • Supervise 1 FTE, Casual Contractors and Volunteers

  • Oversee Health & safety Requirements of Events


About you

  • Tertiary Qualification in Sport Management or related area of study is preferred

  • Must hold a current valid Full (Class 1) Driving License

  • High Level Referee Accreditation is desirable

  • Competition, League Tournament planning and delivery.

  • Experience of working in community development or sport environment

  • Experience strategic planning and operational execution

  • Knowledge and understanding of the Basketball landscape in Auckland

  • Experience of developing networks and working with a range of stakeholders
