Light Fabrication Expert

To be suitable for this role, you will require proven experience as a light fabrication engineer. You will be extremely proficient in TIG & MIG welding thin sections in multiple different materials. You will also have excellent skills operating typical light engineering workshop machinery such are pipe and tube benders, rollers, brake press, guillotine etc. This is not an entry level position, you must have proven experience and be at the top end of your trade. Other people will describe you as someone who is self-motivated and extremely good at your job. You’ll also have excellent work ethics and a top attitude.

Our business is all about industrial energy plant and related ancillaries. We design, manufacture and install large energy plants for industry. The plants we install are industry leading, and we pride ourselves on constantly resetting the bar within our industry.

Our business has been operating for almost 20 years, and we have grown considerably in the last 5 years. We have 50 staff based throughout New Zealand with our head office and workshop based in Palmerston North. We have service centres based in Christchurch, Taupo and Hamilton.

A large portion of our business is dedicated to renewable energy solutions. We are actively helping New Zealand industry decarbonise reducing our countries reliance on coal and gas.

JOB TITLE

• Light fabrication expert based at our factory in Palmerston North

PURPOSE

• Carry out light fabrication works within our business

SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manufacturing pipe and tube systems in different materials (Carbon steel, chromoly, stainless steel, aluminum, titanium)

• Manufacturing heat exchangers and pressure vessels

• Pipe and tube bending to a high degree of accuracy

• Rolling

• Cutting and folding

• Responsible for light fabrication within our business

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• Proven experience in light fabrication

• Able to work sole charge when required for light fabrication works

• Excellent understanding of fabrication processes, cutting, bending, forming and welding

• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

• Relevant qualifications in light engineering and fabrication are preferred unless experience can be proven by other means
