In-House Security Guards

Location: Remuera, New Zealand

Positions Available:

2 x Rostered Security Guards (varying shifts), an average of 20 hours per week

Start Date: Mid-October 2026

Availability: Flexibility to work weekends and evening shifts is essential.

The Role

Our Security Officers are vital, visible members of our Community Centre team, responsible for ensuring the safety and security of our premises and all occupants. You will join a small, supportive team, with onsite parking provided.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct site patrols to check for threats such as hazards and intruders.

Enforce site rules and regulations, escalating to emergency services when required.

Manage access to the premises.

Monitor and control crowds during events.

Operate electronic security systems, including cameras and alarms.

Complete detailed shift and incident reports.
 

Skills & Experience Required

We seek friendly, proactive individuals with strong observation skills who can communicate confidently and effectively. You will be customer-focused, highly reliable, and experienced in monitoring, investigating, and reporting incidents. Honesty, integrity, and teamwork are essential.
 

Essential Requirements

NZ Permanent Residency or Citizenship.

Knowledge of conflict management techniques.

Clean Slate Police Vetting.

New Zealand Certificate of Approval (COA).

Fluency in English (written and verbal).

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.

Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test.
