About Number 10
Number 10 Southland Youth One Stop Shop is a charitable trust providing free, integrated health and social services to rangatahi aged 10–24 across Southland. Operating as a Youth One Stop Shop, Number 10 delivers strengths‑based, wrap‑around services from a youth‑friendly environment, supporting the wellbeing, resilience, and development of young people.
The Role
We are seeking an experienced and values‑driven Managing Director to provide strategic, operational, and people leadership across the organisation.
This role has overall responsibility for the performance, sustainability, and impact of Number 10 SYOSS, working closely with the Board of Trustees to implement strategy, lead funding and stakeholder relationships, and ensure high‑quality service delivery across both clinical and social service teams.
Key Responsibilities
Provide strategic leadership and operational management across the organisation
Work in partnership with the Board of Trustees to develop and deliver strategic plans and organisational priorities
Lead and support a multidisciplinary team, fostering a positive, high‑performing and values‑aligned culture
Oversee contract management, obtain funding agreements, reporting, and compliance across government and philanthropic funders
Lead organisational financial management, budgeting, and sustainability planning
Build and maintain strong relationships with iwi, funders, health providers, government agencies, and community partners
Ensure services remain youth‑centred, culturally responsive, and outcomes‑focused
Champion continuous improvement, risk management, and best practice governance
About You
You will be an experienced senior leader with a strong commitment to improving outcomes for rangatahi and communities.
You will bring:
Proven leadership experience at senior management or executive level, ideally within the health, social services, or not‑for‑profit sector
Strong understanding of governance, funding environments, and public sector contracting
Financial literacy, including experience overseeing budgets, financial reporting, and organisational sustainability
Demonstrated ability to lead and manage diverse teams
Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and relationship‑building skills
A values‑aligned approach, with cultural competence and an understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and the practice of te ao Māori
A strategic mindset balanced with practical, operational capability
