Mount Pack and Cool is seeking an enthusiastic, energetic and driven Packing Operations Manager to join our Tauriko based Post-Harvest business and focus on overseeing packing operations.
Mpac is a progressive and innovative post-harvest facility that packs and coolstores kiwifruit for export and distribution by Zespri International Ltd. Boasting some of the industry’s most advanced automation, Mpac’s facility is one of the world’s largest and most sophisticated, providing post-harvest services to kiwifruit growers across the wider Bay of Plenty Region, our friendly and professional approach continues to attract an ever-increasing group of loyal growers. Our growers benefit from continually high levels of service and consistently better than industry average fruit returns.
Reporting to the Packhouse Manager the responsibilities of this role will include:
Optimise both automated and manual production while focusing on fruit quality at all times.
Oversee staff operating automation and manual production.
Partake in maintenance, repairs and cleaning of production machinery.
Help optimising financial outcomes for MPAC and growers.
Upholding and providing guidance to staff for workplace health and safety.
Providing strong leadership and mentoring to a medium sized and diverse team.
Development and implementation of new and current strategies to deliver excellent post-harvest performance.
Developing and succession planning supervisory roles in the packhouse.
Ensure MPAC meets operational targets of production and supply within budget.
Involvement and contribution in seasonal pollen milling processes

To be successful in this role, you will need the following skills with relevant experience to reflect:
Proven staff management and leadership skills and be willing to grow these skills.
Good communication skills verbal and written.
1+ years Kiwifruit Production Supervisor Experience on either MAF Roda or Compac
Sound Knowledge of Microsoft Office and the willingness to advance these skills.
Demonstrate technical skills in inventory and packaging management.
Knowledge of Radford’s software and Traceability requirements
Be self-driven, motivated, resilient and demonstrate personal initiative.
Mechanical skills to enhance and to maintain productivity of all machinery in a safe manner.
A competitive remuneration package that includes health insurance and a minimum of 30 hours per week, will be offered to the successful candidate.
