Tumu Timbers Ltd is a progressive, locally owned and operated Hawkes Bay timber processing business based in Longlands, Hastings.

About the role:
We have a stimulating and rewarding opportunity for a dynamic and enthusiastic candidate to grow and maintain our strong market position and identify new domestic/export market opportunities in timber packaging products. With a solid track record in building new business relationships, you will savour the opportunity to deliver quality service while being an integral member of our Commercial Sales team. You will assist with guiding the team to ensure the needs and expectations of our customers are consistently met in accordance with our DIFOT objectives. 

About you:
You will drive continual improvement in sales processes, consistently delivering exceptional service to our customers and their businesses. You will be confident in introducing yourself to new business prospects and have a natural affinity for sales and building a rapport with a wide range of people. 

You need to be conscientious, self-motivated, and innovative with excellent relationship building skills, and an appetite for continuously improving and scaling up our packaging business. The role includes domestic and some offshore travel so you will need to be sufficiently flexible to accommodate this as required.  Knowledge of the timber industry is preferred, but not essential.

To be successful in this role, you should have:

• 5+ years sales / business development experience
• Proven capability in customer relationship management
• Experience in sales for timber and/or manufacturing operations (preferred)
• Ability to make effective decisions 
• A high level of computer literacy
• Strong capability in continuous improvement and quality systems
• Demonstrated ability to follow systems and administrative procedures
