About the role

Qwik Scent Limited is seeking enthusiastic and customer-focused Retail Assistants to join our team at our Sandringham, Auckland location. This is a full-time position (with multiple positions available including part-time opportunities) offering an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic retail environment. As a Retail Assistant, you will be the face of our brand, delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring our store operates smoothly. This role is essential to creating a welcoming shopping experience and driving sales performance for Qwik Scent Limited.

What you'll be doing

• Greeting customers warmly and providing expert product knowledge about our range of scents and fragrances

• Processing transactions accurately using point-of-sale systems and handling cash, card and other payment methods

• Maintaining a clean, organised and visually appealing retail environment through regular stock management and merchandising

• Restocking shelves and displays whilst ensuring products are presented attractively to maximise sales

• Assisting customers with product selection, recommendations and gift wrapping services

• Handling customer enquiries and complaints professionally and courteously, escalating issues when necessary

• Supporting promotional activities and special events to drive customer engagement

• Working collaboratively with team members to achieve store targets and maintain high standards of service

• Following company policies, health and safety procedures and loss prevention protocols

What we're looking for

• Previous retail experience or customer service background (preferred but not essential)

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a genuine passion for helping customers

• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team

• Strong numeracy skills and accuracy when handling cash and processing transactions

• Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and public holidays as required

• A positive attitude, reliability and punctuality

• Product knowledge or willingness to learn about fragrances and scent products

• Basic computer literacy and familiarity with point-of-sale systems (training provided)

• Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift stock items
