Health Care Assistants are an integral part of our team, working closely with nursing staff to provide clinical and non-clinical assistance to patients, ensuring a consistently high quality of care is received.

Your day-to-day responsibilities include

  • Triaging walk in patients and checking vital signs
  • Entering patient information into our database
  • Ensuring the clinician rooms are stocked with the appropriate equipment
  • Assisting our team with administrative support.

Responsibilities extend beyond patient care to supporting the smooth and efficient operation of the clinic. You will provide patient-focused care with strong communication and interpersonal skills, working effectively as part of a team. The role requires adaptability, sound organisational and time-management abilities, and the capacity to relate well to people from diverse backgrounds. Duties include recording new patient information and assisting with pre-employment and immigration medicals to ensure a seamless healthcare experience. This is a fast-paced position that demands flexibility, multitasking, professionalism, and confidentiality. Ongoing professional development is supported and encouraged.

This role is working 30 hours per hours per week, across Monday to Friday. This is a permanent position although hours can be negotiable for the right candidate.

What we are looking for

  • Someone who enjoys working with whānau in the community and has a genuine interest in healthcare
  • Qualification in primary care an advantage
  • Solid computer skills – MS Office, Medtech Evolution an advantage
  • Consistently accurate and a quick learner
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Strong command of verbal and written English, Mandarin speaking would be advantageous
  • Ability to build strong rapport with team members
  • A physically fit person who is confident, friendly and approachable
