We are now looking for a Nurse Practitioner to join our clinical team as an ADHD Assessment Lead and deliver high-quality diagnostic assessments & treatment plans for adults across New Zealand. No previous ADHD assessment experience is required as full ADHD training will be provided.
About the Role
As an ADHD Assessment Lead, you will play a key role in assessing adults for ADHD using structured clinical interviews, validated screening tools, and collateral information. You will work closely with our Lead Psychiatrist, GP and nurse prescribers, and operational team to ensure a smooth patient pathway from assessment through to diagnosis and treatment.
No previous ADHD assessment experience is required as full ADHD training will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive assessments for adult ADHD using structured interviews and validated tools.
Collect collateral history and integrate multi-source information to support accurate diagnosis.
Prepare clear, concise, and clinically robust assessment reports.
Discuss findings with patients in a supportive, compassionate manner.
Refer cases requiring complex review to the Lead Psychiatrist.
Contribute to the development and refinement of assessment protocols.
Maintain compliance with MCNZ, NZPB, and other regulatory standards.
Participate in team meetings and ongoing service development.
Support audit, quality assurance, and clinical governance processes.
What We’re Looking For
A New Zealand registered nurse practitioner with a current practising certificate.
Minimum 3 years’ post-registration clinical experience.
Excellent interviewing, formulation, and report-writing skills.
Familiarity with digital assessment models and telehealth platforms.
Strong communication, empathy, and patient-centred approach.
Highly organised, with the ability to work autonomously while contributing to a team.
Desirable
Not required but relevant if you have experience with adult ADHD assessments and working knowledge of DSM-5/ICD-11 diagnostic criteria for ADHD.
Experience working in private practice or digital health settings.
Knowledge of broader neurodivergent and comorbid conditions (e.g. autism, anxiety, depression).
Interest in research, service development, or training.
