The Role

As the Export Operations & Logistics Specialist (Fresh Produce), you will play a critical role in managing and executing end-to-end export operations for our high-quality fresh produce. This is a senior, hands-on role responsible for ensuring that shipments leave on time, arrive in excellent condition, and comply with all relevant export regulations.

You will coordinate closely with growers, packhouses, freight forwarders, shipping lines, and international customers, managing schedules, documentation, and logistics to maintain the integrity of our supply chain. Your role will also involve identifying operational improvements, resolving time-critical issues, and supporting compliance with export standards.

This position is ideal for a detail-oriented, experienced professional who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and takes pride in delivering operational excellence for perishable exports.

Join our Exports Category team and:

  • Coordinate all aspects of export logistics

  • Ensure compliance with international export regulations, and quality standards

  • Liaise with growers, packhouses, freight forwarders, shipping lines, and overseas customers to manage shipment schedules

  • Monitor and resolve operational issues, to ensure on-time delivery and product integrity

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and service delivery

  • Maintain accurate records for internal stakeholders and regulatory compliance

  • Provide end-to-end support, from day-to-day admin to debtor & creditor reconciliations

  • Be flexible and oversee logistics operations amongst the team on some weekends and also after hours where required.

  • Provide the necessary support to our foodsafety and exports compliance team.

About You:

This role is best suited to an experienced export operations or logistics professional who has worked within fresh produce, perishable goods, or time-critical export environments. You will already be confident managing international shipments, export documentation, and freight coordination, and be comfortable operating autonomously in a fast-paced setting.

Candidates must have current New Zealand work authorisation at the time of application.

  • A current New Zealand Customs Declarant Code

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Advanced Software skills in Microsoft Office and ERP /Supply Chain Management systems

  • Previous experience in export operations or international logistics

  • Ability to manage multiple operations functions and deadlines simultaneously

  • Confidence dealing with internal and external stakeholders, logistics operators, and overseas customers

  • Discipline, organisation and a customer-first attitude

  • A strong understanding of export regulatory requirements & expertise in export compliance for international shipments.
