About the role

This is a varied, hands-on role combining payroll and general administration, business systems support, spreadsheets, automation and process improvement.

You will work closely with the Head of Operations and take genuine ownership of recurring work and the systems that support it. This is not a software development role.

Complex development and major technical changes are handled by an external IT partner and managed by the Head of Operations.

Key responsibilities

  • Run recurring payroll and operational tasks accurately and on time, maintain records and ensure important actions are followed through

  • Be the first point of contact for routine staff system issues and administer user access, permissions and standard configurations

  • Build, maintain and improve spreadsheets and turn information into useful reporting for managers

  • Use tools such as Copilot Studio and Power Automate to build agents and flows to simplify repetitive work and improve workflows

  • Keep procedures, checklists and system instructions accurate, current and easy to follow

  • Help managers improve systems and processes across the business when capacity allows


About you

  • Organised, accurate and dependable, with the follow-through to complete recurring work without being chased

  • Confident in Excel, curious about technology and interested in finding better ways to complete repetitive work

  • Able to work independently, communicate clearly and stay focused in a remote environment

  • Sound judgement and discretion when working with payroll, confidential business information and client data

  • Experience with Microsoft 365, CRM platforms, WordPress, cloud phone systems, payroll, low-code automation or financial services would be useful

  • Subject to satisfactory reference, credit and criminal history checks, together with confirmation of eligibility to work in New Zealand
