Due to continued growth, we are looking for an experienced and motivated Workshop Pump Fitter to join our team.


About the Role

Based in our new branch workshop, you will be responsible for the repair, maintenance, assembly, and testing of a wide range of pumps, diesel engines and associated equipment. This role is hands-on and varied, working across hire fleet, customer-owned equipment, and new builds.

You’ll work closely with the Branch Manager and wider team to ensure equipment is prepared, maintained, and delivered to the highest standard.


Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, repair, and overhaul centrifugal, submersible, and other pump systems

  • Service diesel and electric-driven pump units

  • Inspect, fault-find, and test equipment prior to dispatch

  • Complete job cards and service documentation accurately

  • Assist with assembly and commissioning of new pump packages

  • Maintain workshop cleanliness and safety standards

  • Support field technicians when required


About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Proven experience as a Pump Fitter, Mechanical Fitter, or similar trade background

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and fault-finding skills

  • Experience with diesel engines (advantageous)

  • Welding and fabrication skills (beneficial but not essential)

  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and pump manuals

  • A strong commitment to health and safety

  • A current full NZ driver’s licence

A trade qualification in mechanical engineering or fitting & turning will be highly regarded.
