Te tūranga | The role

We are looking for a motivated and reliable Dairy Assistant to join our team and support daily operations across our Rotary and Herringbone dairy sites.

You will play an important role in maintaining high standards of animal welfare, milk quality and overall farm operations. Whether you already have dairy experience or are at the beginning of your farming journey, you will be supported to develop your skills and build a rewarding career within the industry.

Key responsibilities

  • Complete milking duties with a strong focus on milk quality and hygiene.

  • Support animal health programmes and maintain high animal welfare standards.

  • Actively contribute to our health and safety programme.

  • Assist with stock management, animal husbandry and general farm duties.

  • Complete general farm, equipment and property maintenance.

  • Safely operate farm vehicles, including side-by-side vehicles and two-wheeler motorbikes.

  • Maintain accurate animal health and milk quality records.

  • Work collaboratively and contribute positively to the wider Dairy team.

  • The ability to work independently while also being a reliable team player.

  • An interest in completing Primary ITO training, whether you are starting out or building on existing qualifications.

  • Good communication skills and basic computer literacy.

  • Resilience, adaptability and a willingness to keep learning.

  • Sound stock-handling skills and confidence working around animals.

  • The ability to work early starts and meet the physical demands of the role.
