System Safety Engineer (Engineering Professional)

The Role
We are seeking a System Safety Engineer to join our Engineering team and own functional safety across our products, ensuring they meet the highest safety integrity standards while supporting innovation and operational performance.
What You’ll Do:
As a System Safety Engineer, you’ll be the technical authority on functional safety, responsible for ensuring products achieve their target Safety Integrity Levels (SIL) and that development aligns with IEC 61508 functional safety principles. Key responsibilities include:
Lead the Functional Safety Plan in accordance with IEC 61508
Conduct HAZID/HARA workshops and perform risk assessments
Complete FMEA, FMEDA, FTA and dependent failure analysis
Determine and allocate Safety Integrity Levels (SIL)
Develop and maintain Safety Requirements Specifications (SRS)
Prepare safety case documentation and support internal/external assessments
Oversee verification and validation for safety-related functions
Support configuration management and safety change control
Collaborate with hardware, firmware, systems, QA and operations teams
What We’re Looking For:
· Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Systems Engineering, Safety Engineering, Mechatronics or related field preferred but not required
· Minimum 3 years’ experience in engineering or functional safety roles
· Deep understanding of the IEC 61508 and SIL safety lifecycle
· Experience with FMEA, FMEDA, HARA and FTA techniques
· Strong understanding of SIL determination and safety architecture
· Ability to obtain and maintain security clearances
· Strong technical documentation skills
