Are you a highly skilled network engineer with a passion for designing scalable, secure, and future-ready network solutions? Fusion Networks is seeking a Senior Network Consultant to join our Auckland-based team in a hybrid working capacity. This is a senior technical role focused on architecture, design, and delivery.

About the Role

As a Senior Network Consultant, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the technical direction of customer solutions. From initial scoping and architecture through to deployment and escalated support, you’ll lead the design and implementation of robust network infrastructures that meet real-world business needs.

You’ll work closely with Operations engineers, collaborating to deliver high-impact outcomes for our customers. This role will also have a rostered on call component due to the nature of the work.

Key Responsibilities

Network Architecture & Design

  • Investigate and evaluate network technology options
  • Develop high-level and low-level design documentation for stakeholder review and approval
  • Design scalable, secure, and efficient network architectures using best-practice standards
  • Reduce complexity and ensure long-term maintainability of solutions

Project Delivery & Technical Leadership

  • Lead technical delivery of network projects to agreed timeframes, quality and budget
  • Attend customer workshops to translate business needs into technical requirements
  • Create statements of work and feasibility studies to guide decision-making
  • Support other engineers by providing coaching and being an escalation point to resolve technical challenges.

What You’ll Bring

• Proven experience as a senior network engineer with strong design and delivery capabilities

• Deep technical knowledge of networking tools, protocols, and architectures

• Experience leading technical projects and working directly with customers

• Strong documentation and communication skills

• Familiarity with automation and scripting tools is a plus

• Relevant tertiary qualification in IT or Engineering preferred; certifications in networking, firewall and similar areas are also beneficial
