ABOUT THE ROLE - NGĀ ĀHUATANGA O TE TŪRANGA

You will lead the team that keeps pool users safe in Turangi and Mangakino. Supervision and leadership are two critical functions of the role, ensuring team members are effectively supervised, service levels are maintained and facility presentation is to the highest standard. Alongside this, you will be responsible for monitoring, coaching and mentoring staff. You will recruit staff for the Turangi and Mangakino pools and assist with their training. This role also includes working closely with leaders across our district aquatics team as required, some administration work, plenty of customer service and organising rosters.

This position is deemed a safety sensitive position and will require a pre-employment drug test.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR - KEI TE KIMI MĀTOU I TĒNEI MOMO TANGATA

You'll have a passion for aquatics and sharing your knowledge and experience with customers and colleagues to improve water safety. Leading an energetic and passionate team, you will have at least three years' experience in a similar role and have proven staff leadership and supervision skills.

You will come with industry knowledge of plant operations and facilities, an understanding of occupational Health and Safety legislation and experience in dealing with customers. A current Pool Lifeguard Practicing Certificate, First Aid Certificate and other industry qualifications are required in this role.

Please note our pools operate seven days a week so flexibility is required as the role includes early mornings, late nights and weekend work at times.
