The Psychology & Wellbeing team works in partnership with individuals, their whānau/family, and support networks to deliver high-quality, evidence-based wellbeing and psychology services. Our clinical psychologists, psychologists and counsellors are highly trained and registered with New Zealand professional bodies, ensuring safe, effective care. We offer assessment and treatment for a wide range of mental health needs across all age groups – children/tamariki, young people/rangatahi and adults.

Our team is experienced in psycho-diagnostic assessments, providing culturally appropriate and timely support for individuals with complex needs. We deliver both short- and long-term interventions, matching clients or their whānau with the most suitable clinician.

The Psychology & Wellbeing team provides psychological services across varied work streams, including:

  • Psychological therapy after physical injuries

  • Concussion service for mild traumatic brain injury

  • ACC Sensitive Claims therapy

  • Support for first responders and victims of trauma

  • Neuropsychological and psychological assessments

  • Intellectual disability assessments

  • Assessment and psychological therapy for mild to moderate mental health presentations

  • Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) counselling.

About the Role | He kōrero mō tēnei tūranga

This is a permanent 0.8/ full-time position for a registered Clinical Psychologist to join our team in Napier/Hastings.

You will be working autonomously and as part of a wider multidisciplinary team, within a best practice, person and family/whanau centred approach to assessment and psychological therapy.

As a community-based Clinical Psychologist, you will have a real passion and dedication to all aspects of service delivery and the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with your clients and their families. You will work with a wide range of people with illness, injury or disabilities, and various mental health presentations including anxiety, depression, trauma, and stress.

What you will bring | Ngā tohungatanga mō tēnei tūranga

  • A minimum of three years clinical experience 

  • Post-graduate diploma in clinical psychology

  • Membership with one professional body (NZCCP or Psychological Society)

  • Neuropsychology experience advantageous

  • ACC registered to provide service under Sensitive Claims Contract or willingness to become registered

  • A full NZ driver's license is preferable.
