Senior Architectural Technician.
We’re a small, tight-knit architectural practice based in Westgate, working across remediation, education and commercial projects. Our projects are often technically challenging and detail-driven — and we enjoy that. We’re looking for someone experienced who takes pride in solid documentation and wants to be part of a team that values quality work.
In this role, you’ll lead the technical delivery of projects and take ownership of drawing packages from developed design through to consent and construction. You’ll work closely with our architects, coordinate consultants, resolve details and help ensure what we issue is clear, considered and buildable.
We use Revit across the practice. We still have a few legacy projects in Vectorworks, so experience there would be helpful — but it’s not essential.
You’ll need strong technical capability, sound knowledge of the NZBC and local construction practice, and the ability to manage your time well. We’re a busy office, and sometimes that means juggling multiple deadlines — but we support each other and step in when needed.
Just as important is judgement. We value people who can work through technical challenges, bring considered solutions to the table, and also recognise when something needs input — asking the right questions rather than either pushing ahead blindly or stepping back too quickly. Attention to detail is critical. So is accountability.
Because we’re a small practice, everyone’s contribution genuinely matters. We’re looking for someone who understands how their work fits into the bigger picture — how meeting deadlines, coordinating well and maintaining quality documentation directly supports the team and the business as a whole. When the practice does well, everyone benefits.
Our team is collaborative and down-to-earth. We back each other, share knowledge and keep communication open. Being based in Westgate also has its perks — the commute runs against the main traffic flow, which makes the daily routine a lot easier than heading into the CBD.
For the right person, this role has the potential to evolve into leading the technical direction of the practice — helping shape standards, systems and project delivery, and contributing to the company’s growth and future direction.
If you’re capable, technically strong, and want to take real ownership of your work within a supportive and professional team, we’d love to hear from you.
