Rubicon is a not-for-profit organisation where professionals work alongside youth in schools and in the community, making a difference in the lives of rangatahi.
We are currently seeking a fulltime, AOD clinician to join our team of professionals, deeply committed to their mahi. Your strong clinical assessment and treatment planning experience, excellent interpersonal and organisational skills will be key assets in fulfilling this role.
The role will include providing assessments, screens, counselling, case management and group work to rangatahi referred with substance abuse and dependency problems
The ideal candidate will have:
· A qualification in Social Work, Counselling or Mental Health and Addictions
· Have or be prepared to work toward registration with DAPPANZ
· Experience in the counselling field, including working with clients on drug and alcohol issues
· Ability to manage a case load and to plan effectively
· Well developed assessment and case note writing skills
· A passion for supporting rangatahi to make positive changes in their lives
· A thorough understanding and ability to apply motivational interviewing techniques and various counselling modalities
· Strong understanding of evidence-based practices in addiction treatment
· Empathy, patience and a commitment to client-centred care
· A non-judgmental approach to working with rangatahi
· A good understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and knowledge of Tikanga Māori
· Good organisational skills
· ability to work independently and as part of a team
