About the role

As an Assistant Team Leader in the Production Team at Source & Supply Food Co, you will play a key role in supporting the efficient and effective operation of our busy manufacturing facility in Penrose, Auckland. This full-time position involves working actively as a line operator and, in the absence of the Production Team Leader, taking responsibility for overseeing and coordinating the team’s day-to-day activities. This role offers a minimum 40 hours per week.

What you'll be doing

1. Primarily functioning as line operator, performing daily production and line tasks in accordance with product specifications, yield targets, and SOPs

2. Assisting the Team Leader in the supervision and direction of production staff to ensure all targets and deadlines are met

3. Coordinating the workflow and allocation of tasks to production staff to optimise productivity and efficiency

4. Monitoring production processes and identifying opportunities for improvement

5. Providing hands-on support to production staff and stepping in to assist with tasks as required

6. Ensuring all manufacturing activities adhere to relevant health, safety and quality standards

7. Maintaining accurate records and documentation related to production activities

8. Communicating effectively with the wider team to troubleshoot issues and share relevant information

What we're looking for

1. Proven skills and experience in the production and team supervision, with at least five (5) years work experience in meat processing industry

2. Strong organisation and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines

3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively lead and motivate a team

4. A keen eye for detail and the ability to identify opportunities for process improvement

5. A proactive and solutions-oriented approach to problem-solving

6. Competent in using relevant manufacturing and production software and systems
