About the role 

As a Senior Software Engineer in Transactional Banking- Host Squad, you'll be part of our team working on solutions to redefine the financial service landscape in a highly regulated environment. Being part of the Engineering Practice at ASB we encourage our teams to work autonomously in an agile way while actively growing their skills and expertise to continuously improve outcomes for our customers.  

You'll have the opportunity to get hands-on with some interesting and complex pieces of work that integrate on an enterprise scale, all while being part of a smaller squad that makes their own decisions about how to work through prioritisation - so your voice will be heard, and your opinions valued.  

We advocate for T-Shaped teams which will take you through all facets of engineering in any given day. We are looking for a mix of technical skills to support the following activities:  

• Create open banking APIs in accordance with compliance requirements.  
• Commitment to respond to customer requests and keeping the lights on for the existing solutions. 
• Support design and development of web API solutions across ASB platforms such as retail, business, corporate, broking and treasury. 

About you:

We are looking for an individual who will help the team design and develop secure solutions, provide technical guidance and mentor junior developers. You will work collaboratively with our squads and stakeholders to be the voice of engineering and deliver products that delight our customers.  

We are looking for someone who has:  

• 3 to 5 years of experience in .NET stack; strong proficiency as a C# .NET Developer using .NET/.NET Core 
• Experience as a backend developer with REST API / Open API / Microservices.  
• Strong experience in working with CI/CD tools, preferably Azure Pipelines or TFS  

• Strong experience in working with SQL Server 
• Knowledge of design patterns for scalability, performance, and reliability 
• Best practice standards in code development, quality and technical design 

In addition, the following would be an advantage:  

• Experience in Containerization using docker/podman.  
• Experience in messaging or event streaming. E.g., MQ and Kafka.  
• Provide technical mentorship to squad members  
• Experience with Azure building commercial applications  
• Experience in both Windows & Linux environments.
