Players Sports is looking for passionate retail team players to help us deliver one of New Zealand’s best specialist sports retail experiences, primarily at our Onehunga location.

What You’ll Do

This role is primarily focused on delivering outstanding service on the shop floor at our Onehunga store. You’ll also support our online operation and attached warehouse by picking website orders, helping with stock and assisting with inward goods when required.

Although you’ll be primarily based in Onehunga, successful applicants must be available to work across our Auckland retail locations when needed, including our Greenlane flagship store and Players Rackets Pro Shop at the TotalCoach Tennis Centre in St Johns.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Offering friendly, knowledgeable advice across our sports gear, footwear and apparel ranges

• Processing in-store and online sales accurately and efficiently

• Picking and packing online orders quickly and correctly

• Assisting with stock handling and inward goods

• Keeping the shop floor looking sharp and merchandising with a strong eye for detail

• Bringing the energy and attitude needed to be a trusted, team-first contributor every day

• Retail or customer service experience is an advantage, but it isn’t essential if you bring the right mindset and energy

• You’re genuinely interested in learning about the gear we sell and building strong product knowledge

• You’re prepared to work across different parts of the business and help wherever the team needs you

The Details

• Fixed-term role from mid-September 2026 until early April 2027

• Approximately 3–5 days per week, including at least one weekend day

• Availability for consistent weekday and weekend shifts is essential

• Must be available to work through the Christmas and New Year period

• Typical shifts align with our store hours: until 5.30pm Monday to Friday and 4.00pm on weekends

• Primarily based at our Onehunga store, with availability required to work at Greenlane and our St Johns tennis pro shop when needed

• Competitive pay based on experience

• Applicants must be aged 18 or over
