The Role
We are seeking a full-time Retail Sales Assistant to join the team at CarbaTec New Zealand where you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional customer service and supporting the smooth operation of our retail environment. As a Retail Sales Assistant, you will be the face of our business, helping customers find the products they need whilst building lasting relationships that drive customer loyalty and satisfaction. This role is essential to maintaining our reputation for outstanding service and expertise within the retail sector.
Key responsibilities
Provide friendly, knowledgeable and professional customer service to all retail customers
Assist customers in selecting appropriate products and provide product recommendations based on their needs
Process transactions accurately using the point-of-sale system or over the phone
Maintain a clean, organised and visually appealing retail environment
Stock shelves and displays with products, ensuring items are properly labelled and positioned
Handle customer enquiries and resolve concerns in a professional and timely manner
Assist with inventory management and stock counting when required
Follow health, safety and security procedures to ensure a safe shopping environment
Work collaboratively with team members to achieve store objectives and targets
What we're looking for
Previous retail or customer service experience is desired. An interest in woodworking tools and machinery would be an advantage
Strong communication skills and a genuine passion for helping customers
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced retail environment
Reliable, punctual and committed to maintaining high standards of professionalism
Basic numeracy skills and proficiency with point-of-sale systems (training provided)
Physical capability to lift, carry and stand for extended periods
A friendly, positive attitude and willingness to learn and develop
Flexibility to work weekends, public holidays and peak trading periods if required. We do not currently open on weekends and public holidays
