The Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a SAP ABAP Developer to join our team on a permanent basis. The key focus of this role is to provide ABAP expertise, identifying SAP application issues and providing timely solutions. You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to transform business requirements into technical program specifications to code, test and debug programs. You will work with the broader SAP team of Functional Specailsts, and with our support partners. 

The main responsibilities of this role include..

• Act as the SAP ABAP technical expert, ensuring quick turnaround in identifying application issues and providing timely solutions. 
• Develop detailed plans and accurate estimates for completion of build, system testing and implementation phases of project. 
• Transform business function requirements into technical program specs to code, test and debug programs. 
• Develop, code, document and execute unit tests, systems, integration and acceptance tests and testing tools for functions of high complexity. 
• Perform performance tuning to improve performance over multiple functions 
• Engage other technical team members in the design, delivery, and deployment of solutions. 
• Ensure integration system activities including monitoring the technical architecture 
• Manage operational support, performing work during change windows as well as providing on call support as required by the team. 
• Undertake performance tuning activities for SAP 

Key to your success will be your proactive response to analysing operations needs and recommending SAP based solutions. 

Skills and Experience 

To be considered for this role will require … 

• Advanced level formal training, in analysis techniques, development, and methodologies.
• Ideally a minimum of 5-10 years ABAP experience
• Strong object orientation experience 
• SAP Fiori development experience is required 
• Gateway development 
• S/4 HANA experience
• Strong communication skills 
• Strong analytical skills and ability to write technical specifications 
• The following are considered strong assets: Manufacturing and Supply Chain industry experience, and experience with SAP EWM, TM, QM/PP, and GBT

Bachelor’s degree in computer science is highly regarded in this role as is previous industry related experience in ABAP.
