Mō te Tūranga | About the Role
This role is based in the Financial Crime Risk function that supports BNZ's Sanctions compliance programme. In this role you will contribute as a subject matter expert for the managing the banks sanction risks. Supporting the business in understanding and managing their Sanctions risks, development of risk assessments, risk models and identification of emerging threats for the Bank. Alongside this you will also be responsible for:
- Ensuring the Sanctions risk frameworks continue to meet obligations and is informed by using data, timely intelligence and insights.
- Review trends and changes in BNZ customer base and transaction activity as it relates to Sanctions risks.
- Connect with both domestic and international forums to expand BNZ's knowledge and understanding of threats that we need to respond to
- Providing advice and guidance to the 1st Line of defence on matters relating to sanctions risk management.
- Contribute to the design, develop and delivery of targeted sanctions training across BNZ
- Assess the effectiveness of BNZ's sanctions risk models in detecting high risk activity including transaction monitoring and customer risk assessment models
Ōu Pūkenga | About You
To be successful in this role you will have previous working experience in risk, compliance, or data analytics, ideally obtained in a large organisation. With proficiency in data analysis and manipulation, you will be confident analysing data using tools and turning this into business-centric information. Alongside this you will also have:
- A demonstrated ability to analyse data using tools, and to then turn that data into business-centric information.
- Experience with large databases and customer files.
- Three or more years operating in a risk and compliance role in a large organisation.
- With strong written and oral communication skills you will be able to present information in a clear and structured manner across a variety of different media.
